That’s why the Ohio District, in partnership with FiveTwo Network, is bringing together churches of all sizes to pray together, learn from each other, and work together to map out practical “next-steps” plans for your congregation. Plans that help you make the necessary changes to thrive in your community for generations to come. You don’t have to go it alone. You don’t have to keep wondering how God wants you to use the resources he’s given you. Register now for this collaborative working event and walk away feeling energized and encouraged to act on the plan you will create.
Who for?
The Re-Imagining Your Future Summits are for teams of pastors, church workers, and lay leaders of congregations within the Ohio District LCMS.
We STRONGLY encourage teams of 3 - 5 people from a congregation to attend this event. And we STRONGLY recommend the team has at least two lay leaders on it. We know volunteer burnout is a major issue amongst churches in the U.S. right now. A key way to combat this is to involve lay leaders in vision casting and planning for the future. It eliminates the feeling of “top-down leadership” and helps create buy-in and excitement amongst your people!

Over ⅓ of Ohio congregations can’t afford a pastor and are asking lots of questions about the future.
- How do we reach the young families who still haven’t returned after the pandemic?
- How do we best engage the changing community around us?
- What’s the solution to our aging and shrinking membership?
The national shortage of pastors doesn’t help.
More and more we need to work together as congregations, as brothers and sisters in Christ.
That’s why we are hosting Reimagining Your Future regional summits beginning this Fall.
The Summits will be working events for churches of all types. You’ll learn about the cultural issues we’re all navigating, including possible solutions for moving to a thriving future. But more than that, you’ll hear from congregations who are working together here in Ohio. And, you’ll leave with a clear “next steps” plan that fits your unique context.
Jesus did not intend for us to do ministry alone: “But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.” (1 Corinthians 12:24,25)
When congregations work together, the body of Christ is energized and the Church continues to reach people for generations to come.

Meet your facilitators
BILL WOOLSEY
Bill Woolsey is and LCMS pastor and founder of FiveTwo Network. He and his team have created a proven process that’s helped hundreds of churches thrive. FiveTwo’s holistic process leads congregations in seeking God’s will for their future. Since 2015 Bill and his team have helped launch over 120 new ventures, introducing 100k+ people to Jesus. Bill is also the author of the 2-Minute Multiplier, Faith@Work Devotional, StartNew Training, and Seven Steps to Start. He and his wife Julie live outside of Austin, TX and are parents to three married adult children and grandparents to three boys and one girl.
DERRICK HURST
Derrick brings passion and energy to ministry that is built on 21 years of experience. He has served in a variety of roles from Associate Pastor to Church Planter to Senior Pastor. His passion remains working with men and women of faith equipping them to discover and use their God-given gifts for His Kingdom purposes. He has served all 21 years of his ministry in the Ohio District and has been actively involved in the evangelism task force, new mission task force, and served as Mission Coordinator for 3 years. Derrick brings a spirit of energy and excitement that allows those around him to see opportunities where often only obstacles are visible. He works diligently to help congregations work together for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
About FiveTwo
In 2020, FiveTwo Network engaged over 300 pastors in a series of listening forums to understand the challenges they were facing in helping their congregations thrive. This resulted in FiveTwo helping congregations discern God’s will for their future in a way that mobilizes their people to action. The congregations served are experiencing:
- Consistent engagement with the Scriptures in a way that shapes an everyday faith and brings clarity on God’s purpose for them in the community.
- Unity in a vision which the whole congregation has contributed to and prayerfully discerned.
- New leaders utilizing their personal giftings, serving outside of their comfort zone, loving the least of these.
- Growth in generosity with people, finances, facilities, and grounds, remembering God is a God of abundance.
- Joy in engaging new and younger people, connecting more individuals to a life of faith, evidenced in increased baptisms.
