The LCMS-Ohio District Criminal Justice Task Force invites congregations to pray for the upcoming March, 2014, Northeast Ohio Faith Challenge.  The Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is partnering with the faith community on an unprecedented endeavor, starting with the six prisons and two parole regions in Northeast Ohio.  Prayers are requested beginning Sunday February 16th as planning for March continues.  The faith community is being challenged to pray for how they might be engaged in this faith related journey to change the lives of many of our Ohio neighbors and their loved ones while also making Ohio safer.   Prayers are especially requested for initiatives focusing on family worship, mentoring, and job and support services.

Interested in Continuing Education?
Growing in your skills in ministry?  Becoming a better pastor?  You could earn a degree while pursuing these great goals.  The Doctor of Ministry degree at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis offers the opportunity to accomplish these goals.  There are a number of concentrations to choose from:  Homiletics, Military Chaplaincy, Missional Leadership, and a General Pastoral Concentration that lets you customize the focus of your students (to include catechesis, worship, youth ministry, family life, and more).  Courses include intensive residential time spent on CSL's campus in January and/or June with readings done beforehand and papers written afterward.  Additional credits can be earned by wrapping readings and papers around a CE workshop or seminar (including the seminary's symposia, with Doxology, PLI, and more).  For more information, check out the seminary's website under "become a student" at www.csl.edu or contact Dr. Wally Becker at  or at 314-505-7201
