August 2017

  • Video from Synod about the Luther sites in Germany - "The Luther Mile" plus other resources, will be shown at St. James Lutheran Church, 4771 Broadview Road in Cleveland, Ohio from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2017.  A light supper will be served afterwards.  If you are planning to attend the supper, please contact the church office at:  216.351.6499.

September 2017

  • Reformation Renaissance Faire – Coming to Central Ohio
    In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the posting of the 95 theses by Martin Luther and the beginning of modern-day Protestant churches, St. John's Lutheran Church in Marysville, Ohio will host a series of events, culminating in a Reformation Renaissance Festival. The event will be held in Union County, Ohio on three consecutive weekends September 23rd through October 8th, 2017.  RRF Info
  • Lutheran Octoberfest on September 8-10, 2017.  Outdoor festival located on Metropark property near Memphis Kiddie Park in Brooklyn, Ohio.  Beer tents, live bands, fireworks and a "polka church service".  More information forthcoming.
  • Reaping the Harvest Ministries, 10514 Lorain Road in Cleveland will host the Holy Spirit Awareness workshop, presented by Rev. Dave Luecke, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Rev. Dr. Dale Meyer, President of Concordia Seminary-St. Louis, MO will be preaching at St. Paul Lutheran Church 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake, Ohio on Sunday, September 24, 2017, in celebration of the Reformation.

October 2017

  • An Organ and Music Recital by Matthew Gintner will take place on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road, Westlake, Ohio.  More information forthcoming.
  • Hope Lutheran Church in Akron, Ohio is presenting an exclusive, one-night only viewing of "Martin Luther – The Idea that Changed the World" on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in North Canton.   • Dr. Martin Luther Drama, directed by Cory Bruaw, and Dinner Theater will take place on October 12, 13 and 15, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake, Ohio. Details forthcoming.
  • HymnFest 500 will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7960 State Route 38, Milford Center, Ohio on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
  • Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN, will host a presentation by Rev. Dr. Lawrence Brennan on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Fr. Brennan will speak on the topic "500 Years Later, The Reformation: A Roman Catholic Perspective." Fr. Brennan is Professor of Systematic Theology at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, MO. Rev. Dr. Roland Ziegler, the Robert D. Preus Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Confessional Lutheran Studies at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN, will offer a Lutheran response.   • Everyone is invited to the 500th Anniversary Celebration of the Reformation to be held at Grace Lutheran Church (LCMS SELC District), 13030 Madison Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 4:00 PM. LCMS Active and Emeritus clergy are invited to vest. Our guest preacher for this historic celebration will be The Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb, Emeritus Executive Director of Lutherans for Life. A catered buffet dinner will follow the service. Children's and Adult Choirs from the SELC Central Circuit congregations, the Lutheran Wind Ensemble, The Bells of Grace and other musical groups will be participating in the service.   • Reformation 500th Anniversary Festival Worship Service on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3:30 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin, Ohio. Central Ohio Circuits will host an area-wide Reformation worship service with Preacher Rev. Nathan Esala.  More details will be forthcoming. 
  • HymnFest will take place at St. Stanislaus-Slavic Village, 3649 East 30th Street, Cleveland on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 7:30 PM.  See FLYER  for details
  • Lutheran Reformation Music to Bach will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 18000 Van Aken Blvd, Shaker Heights, Ohio on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM.  Light refreshments will be served afterwards. 

November 2017 

  • Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Medina, Ohio (English District) will be celebrating All Saints Day on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 7:00 PM. During the celebration service, John Rutter's Requiem will be sung by a chorus made up of members from the greater Medina area. We are inviting members of your church choir to join the Prince of Peace choir to create this All Saints Chorus.

    Rehearsals will start on Sunday, September 17th from 3:00-4:30 PM in the Sanctuary at Prince of Peace-Medina. Rehearsals will continue each Sunday through the dress rehearsal on October 29th. Scores of the Requiem will be provided to the first 40 choir members to register.
