Dr. James Lamb, Executive Director for Lutherans for Life, will speak at the traditional services (9:00 AM & 10:30 AM) on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road, Westlake, Ohio.  Dr. Lamb will also speak at 7:00 PM at the church on the topic, "The Other End of Life."  In addition, Dr. Lamb will address the students of Lutheran H.S. West and his topic will be, "Biotechnology 101:  A Primer".  You may contact the school for date, time and location.
Health Fair - for All Ages!!
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Road in Westlake, Ohio will host a Health Fair on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 1:00-4:00 PM in the Activity Center.  Health professionals will be available to answer questions and provide materials, for: Heart Health, Dental Health, Nutrition, and much more! There will be fun, interactive activities for kids and adults.  Giveaways include birthday party for 10 to SkyZone and 3-month family membership to YMCA.  (Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Redeemer Crisis Center - thank you!)

Luther House is the home of Lutheran Campus Ministries of Kent, located at 120 Luther Avenue, right behind Faith Lutheran Church in Kent, Ohio.  The vision for Luther House is that it will serve as a Christian outreach center for the Lutheran student community at Kent State.  Luther House will be a gathering place for Bible studies, fellowship events, prayer, conversation, and quiet study.  Luther House residents are students who are responsible for the daily oversight and care of the facility.

The Rev. Dennis Schmidt will be installed as the new interim senior pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2928 Scranton Road, Cleveland, on Sunday, September 22, 2013. The service will begin at 3:00 pm followed by a reception. The Rev. Terry Cripe, President of the Ohio District, will be the preacher for the service. Pastor Schmidt follows the Rev. Horst Hoyer as only the fourth senior pastor in the 133-year of the congregation. Pastor Hoyer served the congregation as Vicar and then as pastor for 57 years until his retirement in July of this year.

Each summer the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM), holds a four-week residential music program for high school musicians.  They've just wrapped up LSM 2013 , where 151 student musicians gathered from 30 states to achieve musical excellence, form lifelong friendships, deepen faith, and ignite the spark to serve.  Read the article HERE, as a student from St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chesterland, Ohio participated in this program.
