Ohio District Congregations and Schools,

In February our congregations and schools are invited to participate in our Ohio District Hearts for Jesus Project.  Each year we support a mission that is sharing the love of Christ.  This year it is designated that we choose a mission outside our district to support with our prayers, writing cards/letters of encouragement, Sunday school offerings, chapel offerings, or special events to raise funds in the month of February (or whatever time frame you choose).

This year we are going to support the work of Leadachild.  Leadachild is an RSO (Recognized Service Organization) of the LCMS.  Their mission is ‘to share the love of Jesus with children around the world through Christian education.’  They will provide coin purses for your children to collect funds for their ministry.  That is explained more in the attached letter and you can learn about the great ways they are serving God’s people and sharing the Gospel message on their website.  They also have recourses on their website that you can share with your families.  www.leadachild.org

Thank you for your support last year as we raised over $10,000 for Prince of Peace, Cincinnati.  They were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our district congregations and schools!

Please submit any funds raised this year to The Ohio District with ‘Hearts for Jesus’ in the memo line.  Do not send any funds directly to Leadachild.  We will combine all the funds collected/submitted by March 31st and present them with a check.  Any funds received after the deadline will be saved to support next year’s Hearts for Jesus Project.

If you have any questions, please contact Sara Krek in our district office at  May God’s love continue to flow to you and through you…

Serving Him,

Your Ohio District Staff
